One nation one ration card scheme
One nation one ration card scheme has been an ambitious scheme of the present Central Government. The scheme was launched on 9 August 2019 in four states simultaneously. Following are these state Telangana, Maharastra, Gujrat and Andhra Pradesh. However, it was strongly opposed by the opposition. The Honorable Supreme Court also opposed it for some reason. Corona arrived in India, under this circumstance, there was a great need for this plan. The employment of the people of the lower income group, and lower middle class has ended . Their sources of income were exhausted. The most affected migrant laborers in this. These migrant laborers leave their state and go for employment in other states. However, all the state government provided considerable help to the migrant laborers. The state government made arrangements for ration and food grains for migrant laborers. But in the disaster, there was a need for this plan somewhere.
Inspired by this central government decided to apply One nation one ration card scheme across the whole country. So that migrant labour go for employment in any state, then that they can take their ration grain in the same state. For example , suppose 6 members in the migrant labours family and goes for employment in the another state alone, he alone can take his ration in another State, and rest of his family members in their basic state. Suppose he goes for employment in another state for 6 months in a year, in this situation he can take ration 6 months where he goes for employment and 6 months in its basic state. There is a plan to add each state by March 2021. By 1 June 2020 20 states of the country have joined. Three new state Orissa, Sikkim and Mizoram have been added to it. 67 crore people of the nation will benefit from this scheme. The present Food and supplies Minister Shri Ram Vilas Paswan ji has contributed a lot in this work. He has tweeted that the scheme is an ambitious plan of the UPA-2 government.
Under this One nation one ration
card scheme all ration cards are being linked to Aadhaar cards and POS Machine,
and provided all the shops with POS Machine and internet. There are 10 states where POS system is being
distributed. Internet help is also being taken in this. Which are the major
states Maharastra, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh etc. According to
National security act(2013) ,81 crore people are entitled to purchase food
grains with subsidy. Ration card benefit card holders living below the poverty
line(BPL). Under this scheme rice gets Rs. 3 Kg and wheat Rs. 2 kg.
How will the system work?
POS Machine will be installed in all PDS shops and it will be connected to the Internet.
All the state government will release the beneficiary’s name on the POS
machine. Which will be linked to the Aadhaar Card. In this way the beneficiary
will be linked to One Nation One Ration Card. Card holders have to disclose
their Aadhaar number at PDS shops. The
shopkeeper see the name of card holders on POS machine, in this way the card
holder can take ration without the card.
Benefits
of One nation one ration card scheme:-
1.
Migrant labours who do not have
ration cards will also get the benefit. 8 crore labours will be benefited by
this and the government will spend 3500 crores for this.
2.
Beneficiary benefit and reduction in
corruption:- Beneficiary can take food grains from their favourite shops. This
will cause competition among shopkeepers and reduce corruption.
Profit-deprived states:-
Some states are currently excluded from the
scheme Like Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal
Pradesh , Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Chandigarh, Delhi, Puducherry , Andaman and Nicobar Island.
These states have not taken necessary steps to implement this scheme.
How to Apply?
If your ration card remains. You do not have to apply for it separately. Rather, take your ration card with the help of the dealer and take a link from the Aadhaar Card.
There are three types of ration cards
1.
Above the poverty line.(APL)
2.
Below the poverty line.(BPL)
3.
Very poor people.
All these things depend on the annual income of the family.
Determination of ration depends on what type of ration card it is. It also
depends on urban and rural areas.
Conditions for making ration card:-
1.
Citizen of India
2.
Must be over 18 years of age. Paired with parents when age is under 18.
3.
Ration card should not be made in any
other state.
4.
The woman is considered the head of
the household. State of not being female , male is considered the head of
house.
5.
A ration card is made in the name of
the head. The names of those close to the head are added to it. Like husband
and Children.
How
to apply?
The process of ration cards made
by all the state government is slightly
different. Today’s form can be filled
online or offline. For offline, all state government have a website from where
the form can be downloaded. For example:- If you are resident of the Uttar
Pradesh you can download form from https://fcs.up.gov.in/FOOD PORTAL.aspx . If you are resident of delhi
you can download form from https://edistrict.delhigovt.nic.in/Downloads/ApplicationForm/Input_9008.pdf . If you
are resident of Bihar http://epds.bihar.gov.in/
You have to give correct
information about you and your family member in the application form. You can
also be prosecuted for wrong information. After filling the form you can submit
it to the Food supply department or you can submit form in Tehsil related to
officer attached to this work. Must receive their receipt.
Which documents are required?
You can use Aadhaar
card, Pan card, Driving license , Passport , Health card or government issued
any card to make a ration card. For address proof you can use Electricity bill, Gas connection,
Telephone bill, bank passbook or bank statement or rent aggrement. Bank
statement can be also use to show annual income.
Nominal Fees:-
All the state government of India charge a nominal fee for the
execution of this work. Which is between Rs 50 to Rs 5, and this work is
performed within 15 days to 30 days. All details are verified. On completion of
the check your ration card is created.

can be quite beneficial for migrant
labor and people below poverty line
specially during corona period.
